There really isn’t a magic button the creates success in any Business regardless of your niche. Making money online is not easy as some would suggest. Sure there will always be those that experience success right off the back but where do you turn if that doesn’t happen for you? No super software, special words, books, websites etc., will help generate “instant success”. Magic solutions just don’t exist, as the saying goes “only in the dictionary can you find success before work”.

Making it online successfully is entirely different from what most of us are used to, the biggest reason is because building & running a successful Biz are NOT skills taught in schools. So what things should you be concerned with if you’re just getting started?

  1. Don’t Pick Sides, Free vs Paid – There is no such thing as completely “Free”, meaning “Free” methods do work but they will take plenty of time and effort getting them to work. Free methods are mostly attributed to getting free traffic with a blog using S.E.O. (search engine optimization). How much do you value your time? I don’t know what amount you would place on your time right now but mine is pretty valuable and I don’t just give it away. Free traffic from S.E.O. will take time to implement and learn. Not to discourage you from using free methods but you should understand that there is much to learn and it may take you longer to have success than you might have understood before. Paid methods will generate success quicker but using a combination of both will set your business up for long term success.
  2. Have A Budget – You will need to spend money on your business, yes you can be frugal about it but you need to understand why money is a requirement. Aside from the services you will need and try over time, every business has expenses. No one can tell you how much or how little it takes because it will be different for everyone. Look at what you might buy for your business and figure out what your best takeaway will be. If you will learn something valuable then it will be worth it even if you don’t understand the value immediately. Even if you get scammed you learn to not do that again and help others to avoid the same trap (yes it’s happened to me too). Let’s just hope you can avoid running into that trap.
  3. Where To Start – THEE (yes I said thee, pay attention), very first thing you should focus on like a laser is what niche (area of marketing, fitness, real estate, network marketing, home products, etc.), you want to be in & how you will build THE BEST YOU Incorporated! Be prepared that you might have to drop your chosen niche, because sometimes your first choice may not be where the love or profits are for your new business. Not to be confused with a money choice (yes there should be money in it but..), long as there is a market/audience for your chosen niche of more than just a few thousand interested people you will do fine.
  4. List Building – The single most important resource you need for any Biz is a list, people who join your marketing by signing up and allowing you to send them emails. The saying goes, “The Money Is In The List..But The Fortune Is In The Follow-Up!” Everything that you do in your business is to establish and maintain the 3 most important things in YOUR business. Building Know, Like & Trust, leads will turn into customers when they first Know you & your business, Like you as a person and what your biz does, and above all Trust that you are honest and will deliver on your promises of value.

Some may tell you that knowing your “Why” is important to move forward in your Biz. I’m here to tell you that’s important if you need motivation but I will tell you that three things are even more important, “Know, Like & Trust”. How to get there:

  • The decision to work hard and stay the course with building your biz no matter the hardship or requirements. You must be driven to gain success.
  • “How” you’re going to do this is extremely important, if you don’t know how then what are you left with? Nothing.
  • KNOW exactly who your best customer is by completing a profile of what activities they enjoy, how old they are, what problems they have, gender, where they live etc. You do this because not everyone will need or want your product, for example everyone with a back doesn’t need or want a Chiropractor so the same goes for your product no matter how great it is.

What Do You Need To Start Making Online Money?

Leverage is the key! Give it time and you will understand how to “leverage” your own Biz efforts. You can save yourself so much time and effort by having a good “done for you” Company where you have affiliate offers to promote while you learn. With Companies like these most of the hard parts of building your business are taken care of like customer support, handling refunds, HTML, coding and a whole ton of things that could take years to learn before you ever make 10 cents! If you’re trying to do all those things and you don’t already know how then you’re going to be screwed for quite some time.

Let me ask you this, if I dropped off the best business in a box at your door (10,000 boxes of the best business ever!) would you know how to sell and market it? Maybe 2 or 3 depending on your experience and skill right now. But basically you would be lost and looking at ways for someone else to take that burden, “c’mon man, I’ll give it to you! Just take these things away please!” Basically without any leverage to have success you will simply struggle until you figure it out. How do you get the leverage brings my next point of getting started on the positive side and that’s skill!
